There have been no reported side effects from DHA (active ingredient in all self-tanners) and was approved by the FDA for use on the body in 1977. If you have had an allergic reaction previously to any self-tanner, abstain from spray tanning.
Schedule your manicure and/or pedicure at least a day before your spray tan appointment.
Exfoliate for at least two days prior to spray tan appointment.
Wax or shave a minimum of 48 prior to appointment.
Remove or avoid wearing makeup, moisturizers and deodorant prior to appointment. It will act as a barrier and prohibit the process from working properly.
Wear lose dark clothing and flip flops to your appointment.
Maintaining your tan
Apply moisturizer morning and evening after post-tan shower.
Avoid products with AHA, chlorine, long hot showers/baths or exfoliating/scrubbing the skin.
Avoid exercising and showering for 8 hours after appointment. If you shower before 8 hours, you will not get the maximum results.
The tan usually lasts anywhere from 7-10 days. Results may vary depending on factors such as skin type, activities and maintenance.
